Blue Hills Ski Area Closes For Inspection After Boy Falls

A 7-year-old boy fell from a chairlift at the Blue Hills Ski Area in Canton, Massachusetts State Police said.

The ski area said on Facebook​​ Saturday, they  were "excited to reopen immediately upon completion of [ the state] inspection process."

CANTON, MA — Blue Hills Ski Area closed to permit an inspection of its chair lift on Saturday, less than a week after a young boy fell from it and landed in the hospital.

On Monday, a 7 year old fell 35-feet from the Blue Hills Ski lift. Although he was expected be OK, he was taken by a med flight to Boston Children’s Hospital.

Shortly after the ski area said in a statement there was nothing to suggest there were any mechanical issues that caused or contributed to the fall.
