Canton High School Hires Next Baseball Coach

Ben Shuffain, a graduate of Sharon High School is looking to make improvements to a 4-12 team that was 4-12 last year.

CANTON, MA — The high school has hired its next varsity baseball coach, Ben Shuffain.

Shuffain, a graduate of Sharon High School and Ashford University in Clinton Iowa is looking to make improvements for a team that struggled last season. Last year, the Canton Bulldogs finished 4-12.

Shuffain teaches history and physical education at Saint Catherine's School in Norwood. The school's official athletic blog spoke highly of Shuffain's experience as a baseball player and coach, citing his experience coaching in semi-professional leagues in Florida as well as working as an assistant coach at Sharon High School.

Shuffain told the athletic department's blog he is excited to get started and wants to make an impact quickly.

"It is a great honor to be hired as the head coach of Canton High School Baseball. I don’t take this opportunity lightly, " he said. "Canton has a long history of successful sports teams and even more so right now. I am looking forward to getting out there with the guys and evaluating the talent that we have. We will work hard, have fun and do our very best to bring Bulldog Baseball back to its winning ways."
