Canton Native Drafted By Oakland Raiders
Maurice Hurst Jr., a graduate of Xaverian High School and the University of Michigan, was drafted by the Oakland Raiders Saturday.
A Canton native is taking his football talents to Oakland.
Defensive tackle Maurice Hurst Jr., a graduate of Xaverian High School and the University of Michigan, was selected by the Oakland Raiders with the 140th pick in the fifth round of the 2018 NFL Draft.
As a fifth-year senior, Hurst was named a consensus All-American and was the recipient of the Bo Schembechler Team MVP and Defensive Player of the Year awards. Last season, he had 61 tackles and five sacks for the Wolverines.
