Canton Police Cruiser Hits Pedestrian While Responding To Crash

The officer was responding to a separate pedestrian crash that took place at the intersection of Dedham Street and Washington Street.

CANTON, MA — A Canton police cruiser struck a pedestrian Friday while responding to a separate pedestrian crash, reported NBC Boston.

The officer was responding to an accident that took place at the intersection of Dedham St. and Washington St. when he went through an intersection with his lights and sirens on and hit a pedestrian, said Canton Police Chief Ken Berkowitz.

The first pedestrian who was hit is expected to be okay, said police. No information has been released on the condition of the second pedestrian.

An investigation will be conducted by Norfolk County District Attorney Michael Morrisey and Massachusetts State Police.
