Canton Police Investigate Shooting On York Street
Canton police said a K-9 unit was searching the York Street neighborhood for evidence Tuesday morning after a woman was shot Monday night.
CANTON, MA — Canton police were combing the area around York Street Tuesday morning after a woman was hit with a stray bullet Monday night. Police alerted residents on Tuesday that K-9 units were searching the area for evidence.
Police said they were not actively searching for suspects on Tuesday.

Canton Police Chief Ken Berkowitz said in a media briefing on Tuesday that a 20-year-old woman was hit in the leg when shots were fired from one car to another Monday night.

Police responded to York Street and Ledgewood Drive about 10 p.m. on Monday after receiving the report of shots fired. Residents in the area were advised to seek alternate routes around the detoured streets.

York Street was reopened about 2 a.m.
