Canton Public Schools Letter Regarding Upcoming Coronavirus Vaccine Clinic For Students
The coronavirus vaccine is not a requirement of Canton Public Schools and this is entirely optional for Canton families and students.

"Thanks to the collaboration of Canton Board of Health, the CPS Nursing Team, Canton Fire Department, Canton Police Department, Canton Public Schools and our CPS school physician, the Town of Canton is pleased to announce that we will be hosting a COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic for students only, ages 12-22, on Wednesday, May 26 in the Rodman Gymnasium.
The Covid-19 vaccine is not a requirement of Canton Public Schools and this is entirely optional for Canton families and students. This vaccination clinic is being offered as a convenient and accessible site for CPS families desiring the Covid-19 vaccination for their child. This particular clinic is only open to students enrolled in the Canton Public Schools.

The CPS student MUST BE REGISTERED in advance to be able to receive the COVID-19 vaccine at the clinic. No walk-in appointments will be available. The registration link can be found below. This registration will be open through Monday, May 24.
*Please note this is a FIRST DOSE clinic only. If your child has already received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine, they will need to receive the second dose elsewhere.
Location: Rodman Gymnasium
Date and time: Wednesday May 26, 2021, 1:00pm-4:00pm*
*GMS students may attend the clinic after their Wednesday early release dismissal time. CHS students can register for time slots after the 2:29 p.m. dismissal. Students may not leave school to get the vaccine.
Eligibility: Canton Public Schools students aged 12-22 years.
Requirement: Children aged 12 through 15 years must be accompanied by a parent/guardian or have written consent from a parent/guardian for an assigned adult to be responsible for their child. Children aged 16 and older may receive the vaccine without the presence of an adult with a signed consent from a parent/guardian, but adult accompaniment is strongly encouraged.
Vaccine: Pfizer. Second dose to be administered 21 days later on June 16 at a Vaccine Clinic to be held at Rodman Gymnasium. More information regarding the second dose clinic will be shared with families and participants on May 26.

If your child has had a severe allergic reaction (anaphylaxis) or an immediate allergic reaction to any ingredient in the vaccine they are scheduled to receive, they should not get that vaccine. Learn more here: information for people with allergies.
We are thankful to be able to offer this COVID-19 vaccine clinic for our students in an effort to stop the spread of Covid-19. Families are encouraged to reach out to their pediatrician to have a discussion about the Covid-19 vaccine to address any questions or concerns they may have regarding their child receiving the vaccine.
