CANTON – Geoffrey Zini, who has been Academic Director at Blue Hills Regional Technical School for the past five years, is now the school’s principal.

“I am very grateful to Blue Hills for giving me this opportunity to serve,” he said. “Blue Hills is a wonderful school and over the last five years I have come to appreciate the mission of career technical education. We help students discover what they like to do and how best to get there. Whether that means postsecondary education, job placement, or military, that’s our focus for all of our students.”

“My primary role,” he continued, “is to support teachers and students so that their focus can be teaching and learning. I want Blue Hills to be a place where students from all backgrounds and experiences can be successful and add real meaning to their education.”

Blue Hills Superintendent Jill Rossetti praised Principal Zini enthusiastically. “I am honored and proud to continue to work with Principal Zini. He is an excellent listener, organized, fair, consistent, collaborative, visible and responsive to teachers, students, families and stakeholders while building relationships and fostering a positive culture.”

He held several positions at Norwood High School before coming to Blue Hills including History Teacher (8 years), Basketball and Cross Country Coach, Dean of Students and Department Chair for Social Studies.

He was also Assistant Principal at Norton High School for two years.

“The faculty here really sets Blue Hills apart,” Mr. Zini said. “It is a caring, dedicated group of professionals from numerous backgrounds. Teachers care about their students as people. Students here learn from highly trained teachers who are masters in their fields. Throughout the renovation project [at the school, which began in June 2018 and is in its final phase], the teachers here have delivered a high quality curriculum to all of our students. I am excited to have a refreshed and modernized facility as this project winds down. Improved infrastructure, security, heat and electrical systems will all help us deliver a state of the art education.”
