Herbicide Spraying Ongoing in Canton

Vegetation control programs have started in Canton along the Amtrak lines.

The plan, which started May 11 and runs to June 2, will spray herbicide to prevent plants and other vegetation from dislodging or otherwise disturbing the tracks.

To the right is the plan of application. Blacked out and highlighted sections of the tracks are areas scheduled for application.

Several areas of the track have been designated as a no spray zone, as they are too near to drinking water zones.
