Hilton Breaks Ground On Canton Hotel

Construction on the hotel will begin in the spring.

CANTON, MA – Developers broke ground this week on the Hilton Garden Inn in Canton. The 138-room hotel, which will be built on a three-acre land parcel in a complex that includes Boston Mutual Life Insurance, Dunkin' Brands and Computershare, is scheduled to open in spring of 2019. New Hampshire-based hotelier Roedel Companies leased the land from Boston Mutual Life Insurance Company to develop its 13th hotel in the northeast.

The Hilton Garden Inn will include a fully automated board room and additional conference room space, along with amenities such as ergonomic desk chairs, complimentary wi-fi, a fitness center and 24-hour business center. It seeks to fit the corporate and travel needs of companies with 3,500 square feet of meeting space and an upscale bar-centric restaurant, according to a press release.

Construction is set to begin in the spring.

Howard Neff, chief investment officer of Boston Mutual, led the groundbreaking this week. He was joined by members of Roedel Companies, including Business Development Officer David W. Roedel. This is the second property that Roedel has broken ground on in Massachusetts in the last six months, behind the Homewood Suites by Hilton at Riverbridge in Berlin over the summer.

"We look for good opportunities and great partners," Roedel said in a release. "That’s certainly the case with bothof these projects. We see a need, an attractive location and a great business relationship."
