State Trooper Assists With Delivery Of Baby Girl In Canton
Trooper Jordan Cavaco helped deliver the healthy baby after a woman went in to labor in a vehicle traveling on Route 95.
CANTON, MA — A Massachusetts State Trooper assisted with the successful delivery of a baby girl Sunday morning after a woman went into labor in a vehicle traveling on Route 95 in Canton.
Trooper Jordan Cavaco was on patrol at approximately 7 a.m. when he noticed a vehicle in the left lane near exit 12 trying to flag down his cruiser by flashing its high beams and hazards.
Cavaco told the man driving the vehicle to pull over at the split of Routes 93 and 95 and found that a woman in the vehicle was in labor. Cavaco requested medical services and went on to assist with the delivery.

State police said the mother and baby were conscious and alert throughout the delivery and additional troopers who assisted with the process confirmed that the baby's airways were clear.
"Trooper Cavaco wished to express that he was very happy to have had the opportunity to assist the family with the delivery of their baby girl!" said the department in a Facebook post Monday.
