Town of Canton Announces 12th Annual Writing Contest
Entries to Canton Writes must be submitted by April 30.
CANTON, MA — The Town of Canton has invited residents to enter its 12th annual Canton Writes contest, a town-wide writing competition sponsored by Friends of the Canton Public Library and the Canton Citizen.
Participants must live in Canton and may submit a short story, poem, or work of non-fiction. Each author is limited to one submission that does not exceed 1,000 words and will be required to enter in one of four age groups, including elementary school, middle school, high school, and adult.
Entries to Canton Writes will be anonymously judged by an independent panel of educators, writers, and readers affiliated with Friends of the Canton Public Library. First, second, and third prizes will be awarded in the short story and poetry categories for each age group and three winners will be chosen from the non-fiction category.
