3 Things You Need to Know Today, Dec. 8

Another look at consumerism and your kids.

Today is Wednesday, Dec. 8. Here are three things you need to know today.

1. A timely message

If you missed the screening last week of "Consuming Kids," a new documentary from the Media Education Foundation, the Charlestown Nursery School is offering local parents to explore the issues of commercialization and childhood. At 7:15 a.m. today — early, before work — there's a free screening at the school on 124 Main Street.

2. Back to city business

After an explosive last week, where a majority of councilors voted to oust colleague Chuck Turner, the city's governing board meets again today at 12:15 p.m. You can expect less fireworks, more municipal business. The meeting is live on Comcast Channel 51.
