5 Meetings and Events Not to Miss This Week
The CNC looks at the 40 Warren St. project and two opportunities to support local artists.

Today is Monday, Nov. 28. Here are five meetings and events you should know about this week.
1. The owner of the garage at 40 Warren St. would like to do some major -- namely adding a floor and some residential units -- and word on the street is some abutters have concerns. The development committee for the Charlestown Neighborhood Council is . It will be a final review, in fact, of the redevelopment plans. Meeting starts at 7 p.m. at the Knights.
2. Congressman Capuano is hosting a few more telephone community meetings, including one this Wednesday evening. If you want to participate, click for details on how to call in.

3. The Golden Age Senior Center opens its doors this Thursday from noon to 3 p.m. for an annual art sale. (I went last year and can tell you this is absolutely worth going to.) Support a great resource, great artists and meet some of the neighborhood's finest people.
4. This one's a big deal on Thursday evening: Want to have a say in the health of the community? As part of MGH and Spaulding’s upcoming "health assessment" of Charlestown, there will be a Organizers want to hear from you -- the people who live in Charlestown -- about what you think the neighborhood does well, and what it needs. Dinner and babysitting begins at 6:30 p.m., and the discussion will run from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. .

5. You'll have one more opportunity to buy local art this weekend when the Artists' Group of Charlestown hosts its annual open studios. Purchase hand-made gifts and original works. Here's the scoop on when the StoveFactory is open.
