Boston 2020 Primary Election Results: Voters Choose Biden
Around 144,000 registered voters cast ballots Tuesday in Boston.

CHARLESTOWN, MA — Around 152,607 registered voters cast ballots Tuesday in Boston, according to an unofficial city tally, and the most primary votes went to former Vice President Joe Biden. Two hours before the polls closed voter turnout was approaching 30 percent.
The votes for Biden (43,210) were closely followed by support for Bernie Sanders (43,154) and then Elizabeth Warren (39,188). Michael Bloomberg was a distant fourth with 11,878 votes.

Some 5,748 people voted from Charlestown on Super Tuesday, according to the city's unofficial election results. While Super Tuesday voter turnout seemed up across the state, it appeared down a bit from 2016 for Charlestown.
During the 2016 presidential primary 6,340 of the 12,865 registered voters from Charlestown (Ward 2) cast ballots, most of them putting their support behind Hilary Clinton (2,245) to Bernie Sanders (2,213).

In 2016 there were 382,946 registered voters in Boston. By September 2019 there were 402,536 registered to vote in Boston (14,003 in Charlestown), according to election data.
