Boston Storymobile Visits Charlestown on Fridays
Deadlines, events and other items you should know about on Aug. 2 in Charlestown.

1. Chance of rain: Friday, Aug. 2 will be cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms in the morning, gradually becoming sunny later in the day, according to the National Weather Service. High: 83, Low: 64. Weekend forecast: Saturday and Sunday will be mostly sunny with a slight chance of showers Saturday afternoon. Highs near 80, lows around 60-63.
2. Storymobile: ReadBoston’s Storymobile Program will be bringing books and literacy activities to Charlestown children on Fridays in August. The Storymobile will be at The Children’s Quarters (136 First Ave.) at 10 a.m., the Kennedy Center (23A Moulton St.) at 11:15 a.m. and the Charlestown Branch Library (179 Main St.) at 1:15 p.m.
3. Teen Game Time: Teenagers can drop by the Charlestown Branch Library (179 Main St.) on Friday, Aug. 2 from 2-4 p.m. to play a variety of board games. This program is free, with no registration required.

4. Night at the museum: MFA First Fridays are held on the first Friday of every month from 6-9:30 p.m. With the purchase of admission to the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, 465 Huntington Ave. ($25 adult, $23 seniors), you can explore the exhibits, enjoy music, cash bars featuring signature cocktails and delicious tapas available for purchase. This event is open to visitors ages 21 and up; purchase tickets in advance at mfa.org or at the door.
5. Motorcyclists wanted: Boston motorcyclists are invited to participate in the first Boston Marathon Motorcycle Ride on Sunday, Aug. 11. The 65-mile ride will begin near the start of the Boston Marathon route in Hopkinton and will raise money for the Jimmy Fund. The event will include a wreath-laying ceremony on the MIT campus in memory of the late Officer Sean Collier, who was a strong Jimmy Fund supporter. Registration costs $35 per motorcycle and $10 per passenger.
