Charlestown Christmas 2020 Grocery Store Hours

CHARLESTOWN, MA — Christmas is likely to look different this year as millions of Americans opt to stay home, marking the holiday with smaller celebrations amid the coronavirus pandemic.

But when it comes to Christmas dinner, a pandemic is certainly unlikely to stop us from forgetting that one key ingredient to make a perfect holiday meal.

Fret-not: A number of grocery stores are planning to be open on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day for those emergency and last-minute shopping trips in and around Charlestown.

Here are the hours for grocery stores:

Bunker Hill Market: Open regular hours both days. (7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday)

Sanchez Market: Open regular hours Thursday, possibly closed Christmas. Call to confirm: 617-242-5333

United National Market: Open regular hours Thursday. On Christmas Day, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.: Call to confirm: 617-242-9360

Whole Foods: Most stores will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Christmas Eve. All stores are closed Christmas Day.

And outside of Charlestown:

BJ's Wholesale Club: Most stores will be open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Christmas Eve and closed Dec. 25.

Costco: Most stores will be open limited hours Christmas Eve, and all stores will be closed Christmas Day. Call ahead to confirm hours with your local store.

CVS: Most locations are open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Christmas Day. Find locations on the CVS website.

Market Basket: All Massachusetts locations open 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Christmas Eve and closed on Christmas Day.

Shaw's: Most Massachusetts locations open until 6 p.m. Christmas Eve and closed on Christmas.

Stop & Shop: All stores will close at 6 p.m. Christmas Eve. All stores are closed Christmas Day.

Target: Most stores will close at 8 p.m. Christmas Eve. All stores are closed Christmas Day.

Trader Joe's: All stores will close at 6 p.m. Christmas Eve. Stores are closed Christmas Day.

Walmart: Most stores will be open until 6 p.m. Christmas Eve. All stores are closed Christmas Day.

Wegmans: All stores will open as normal and close at 6 p.m. Christmas Eve. All stores are closed Christmas Day.
