Deadlines, events and other items you should know about on Tuesday, July 2 in Charlestown.

1. Chance of rain: Today will be cloudy with a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, according to the National Weather Service. Some storms could produce heavy rain. More rain is possible this evening, mainly between 1 and 4 a.m. High: 80, Low: 69.
2. Garden activity: Children can make their own test tube terrariums at the Charlestown Branch Library (179 Main St.) on Tuesday, July 2 between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Children of all ages are welcome.
3. Summer camps: Looking for a way to keep the kids busy this summer? Check out the Charlestown Boys and Girls Club’s summer programs, which start this week for ages 6-12 and next week for older youth. For more information, call the club at 617-242-1775.

4. BU study: Researchers at Boston University are conducting a study about family responses to the Boston Marathon attack and the effects of the attack on children.
