Daily 5: 'Romeo & Juliet' On Stage, Pet Rocks at the Library

Deadlines, events and other items you should know about on July 31 in Charlestown.

1. Sunny: Wednesday, July 31 will be sunny with a high near 82 and a low around 64, according to the National Weather Service.

2. Adopt a pet rock: Teens can drop by the Charlestown Branch Library (179 Main St.) on Wednesday, July 31 at 2 p.m. to adopt and decorate a pet rock. This program is free, with no registration required.

3. Romeo and Juliet: Limited tickets are available to Actors' Shakespeare Project's 2013 Summer Youth Intensive production of “Romeo and Juliet,” on stage at the Charlestown Working Theater (442 Bunker Hill St.) on Wednesday, July 31, Thursday, Aug. 1, Friday, Aug. 2 and Saturday, Aug. 3 at 8 p.m. The show is the culmination of a month-long workshop. 4. Farmers market: The Kennedy Center's Charlestown Farmer’s Market is open Wednesdays from 2 p.m. to dusk through the end of October. Located on Main Street, near the Hubway rack and right in front of the Bunker Hill Mall, the Charlestown Farmers Market features produce and meat products sold by Stillman's Farm and a few other vendors.

5. Christmas in July: The North End Recovery Outreach Committee teen program will sponsor a “Christmas in July” party on Wednesday, July 31 at 7 p.m. at DeFilippo Park on Prince Street. Enjoy pizza from Regina Pizzeria, slush and beverages, holiday music, super slides and bounce houses and a special early visit from Santa Claus. The evening’s feature film will be “Christmas Vacation.” Bring your own chairs or blankets.
