The Charlestown Neighborhood Council Development Committee will be hosting a meeting on a proposed redevelopment at 30 Polk St. involving the demolition of existing structures and the construction of a new 31-unit rental building.
The meeting will occur on June 24Â at 7 p.m. at the 100 Ferrin Street Senior Center Community Room. Doug McDonald is proposing to demolish the dilapidated structure currently located on the property, which is directly adjacent to Charlestown High School on Polk Street, and build 31 units of rental housing in a single structure, with on-site parking for 21 of the units. The project is scheduled for a Zoning Board of Appeal hearing in mid-July.Â
Abutters and concerned neighbors are encouraged to attend and ask questions or express any concerns regarding the proposed project.
