Harvard-Kent Kids Go to the Big E

And while they were visiting the agriculture expo, some students got the chance to meet the governor.

Last week fifth grade students from the Harvard-Kent Elementary School visited the Big “E” in Springfield, Mass. The trip was made possible through grants from the Massachusetts Agriculture in the Classroom INC, and the Eastern States Exposition Eastern Massachusetts Trustees Grant Committee.

Students were able to increase their agricultural literacy by learning more about native grown products and locally raised animals. And a highlight of the trip was the opportunity for some of the students to meet Gov. Deval Patrick.
