'Magic of Summer' Event in the Navy Yard Tonight
Deadlines, events and other items you should know about on June 26 in Charlestown.

1. Possible T-storms: Today will be mostly cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms throughout the day, according to the National Weather Service. Some storms could produce small hail, gusty winds and heavy rain. Rain and storms will continue into the evening. High: 88, Low: 69.
2. Magic of Summer: Come enjoy the "Magic of Summer" today from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Shipyard Park in the Charlestown Navy Yard. Pack a picnic and bring the kids to see Magic Marc the Magician at 5:30 p.m., followed by a concert with Sgt. Daniel M. Clark, the "Singing Trooper," at 6 p.m. In case of rain, the event will be held under the tent at Courageous Sailing Center on Pier 4.
3. Mystic Lofts update: The Charlestown Neighborhood Council Basic Services and Development committees will hold a meeting tonight at 7 p.m. to discuss a request by the owner of Mystic Lofts (formerly Nancy Sales) on Medford Street to change the zoning of the property to allow two retail stores, including an all alcohol liquor store. The meeting will be held at the Charlestown High School (240 Medford St.) cafeteria.

4. Job fair: Whole Foods Market Charlestown is holding a job fair today from 1-5 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus hall (545 Medford St.). All applicants must have a current online application on file for the Charlestown store prior to attending the job fair. The fair will also run Thursday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
5. Get your tickets: The Crohn's and Colitis Foundation will kick off summer this Thursday from 6-10 p.m. with “Pier Madness,” a New England-style lobster bake soiree, at the Courageous Sailing Center on Pier 4 in the Charlestown Navy Yard. Complimentary beer and wine will be provided along with live entertainment from the LEGIT Band. Prizes will be awarded for the best “prep” attire. Tickets cost $75 each and can be purchased at http://online.ccfa.org/piermadness2013. All proceeds will benefit Crohn's and Colitis research.
