MGH Institute Of Health Professions Presents Free Mental Health Program

On January 21 there will be a free public event at New England Aquarium, open to all Charlestown residents.

MGH Institute of Health Professions will present “In Our Own Voice,” a program on mental health, on Thursday, January 21 at the Simons IMAX theatre at the New England Aquarium. The event is open to all Charlestown residents free of charge.

The event will be facilitated by the National Alliance on Mental Illness of Massachusetts (NAMI Mass). The non-profit organization, located in Charlestown’s Schrafft Center, provides education, support, and advocacy programs to Massachusetts consumers and their families to improve the public’s awareness and understanding of mental illness.

Attendees will hear from people about the reality of living with mental illness, and from clinicians about how they collaborate to provide person-centered care.

The event is the Ann W. Caldwell President’s Lecture: Interprofessional Rounds, an annual event in which second-year students in the MGH Institute’s entry-level graduate programs come together to hear successful examples of how clinical teams collaborate to provide patient-centered care. Named after the school’s fourth president, the lecture is intended to reinforce the Institute’s mission of preparing health professionals to advance care for a diverse society.

Seating is limited for this free public event. RSVP to social@mghihp.edu by January 20.
