Movie Stars Chris Pratt and Chris Evans Visit Sick Children

They were only on-screen heroes...until now.

Chris Pratt and Chris Evans, who are known for playing Star-Lord and Captain America on the silver screen, became real superheroes when they visited Christopher’s Haven in Boston on Friday.

Christopher’s Haven is a home for kids battling cancer and their families. The movie stars visited the location after sparking a friendly Twitter bet when they found out their respective football teams were going to compete in the Super Bowl.

The idea, which Pratt coined as #TwitterBowl, erupted to the point of having a tab on Christopher Haven’s website. The official rules of the challenge were as follows:

  • If the Patriots win, Chris Pratt has to visit Christopher’s Haven in Boston as Star-Lord and wear a Tom Brady jersey for the duration of his visit.
  • If the Seahawks win, Chris Evans has to visit Seattle Children’s Hospital to wave Seattle’s 12th Man Flag in his Captain America uniform.

It all started when Chris Evans, a Pats fan, took the first shot:

After some true to form trash-talking Chris Pratt made a Hail Mary pass of sorts:


And Evans accepted the challenge. MTV.com reported that the stars set up phone lines to raise money and taunted each other along the way.

And then, to the delight of the Twittersphere, they went to the Super Bowl together:


Pratt declared he would hold up his end of the bargain after the Patriots were crowned:


And Evans made the noble decision of agreeing to visit both hospitals:

The actors visited Christopher’s Haven on Friday, per NECN, delivering toys and gift bags donated by Newbury Comics and Disney. They will visit the Seattle Children’s Hospital next.
