Pedestrian Hit, Killed In Charlestown's City Square
A driver hit a pedestrian in Charlestown Tuesday morning and dragged the person for a mile, killing the victim, according to police.

CHARLESTOWN, MA — A driver hit a pedestrian near the Charlestown Navy Yard and dragged them for a mile to City Square Tuesday morning, killing the person.
Police closed the Washington Street Bridge and Chelsea Street at Warren Street, and diverted traffic on Rutherford Avenue inbound at Austin Street for hours as they investigated throughout the morning and into the early evening.
"The crime scene starts at the I-93 on ramp, and it runs down to Chelsea Street all the way to Terminal Street," Boston Police Deputy Superintendent James Miller told reporters Tuesday.

Police later said they'd found a “vehicle of interest,” but did not say if they found the driver.
