Shine a Light on Lung Cancer Vigil Set for Tuesday
Join fellow Charlestown residents at the event, remembering loved ones who have been touched by lung cancer.

The following information was submitted to Patch by Charlestown resident Julia Gaynor.Â
Join hundreds of participants, including many Charlestown residents, Tuesday Nov. 1 at the Prudential Center for a candlelight vigil to honor those who have been touched by lung cancer. The Prudential Tower will be lit to bring lung cancer out of the shadows and bring much-needed attention to this disease.
The vigil begins at 7:30pm at The Prudential Building, Boylston Ave, Boston. Prior to the vigil program, there will be an informational fair from 6–7:30 p.m. Come learn more about how you can get involved in the lung cancer movement. Visit our video booth and share your own personal story of how lung cancer has affected you, a loved one, or friend. And please, bring a picture to share.
Unless the weather is above 60 degrees, the vigil will take place inside the Prudential at the Belvedere Arcade which is near the inside entrance to PF Changs. We will have plenty of volunteers throughout the Pru to help direct you to the vigil and plenty of seating for those needing it!
If the weather is above 60 degrees, the vigil will be held outside on Boylston Avenue in front of the food court (between The Hynes Convention Center & the Entrance to Legal Seafood).Â
If you would like a name read or a picture included during the vigil please e-mail it to Diane Legg (diane.legg@verizon.net) prior to Nov. 1.
