What Are You Thankful For This Year?
Tell your neighbors on Patch. And hey, Happy Thanksgiving!

Today is Wednesday, Nov. 23. Here are five things you need to know today.
1. What are you thankful for this year? Now's the time, of course, to reflect. And you can do that right here, with your neighbors, on Patch. I'm thankful for all the people who have welcomed me to the neighborhood over the past year. You've made my job a lot of fun. But as of Dec. 1, I'll be moving on. I've promoted to an assistant regional editor position (helping to manage a group of Patch sites on the South Shore and Cape). I'll miss you all a lot. Thanks for being such an awesome community.
2. For those of you traveling this today, take note: traffic is expected to be at its peak on Wednesday and Sunday, and MassDOT is urging travelers to consider traveling in the early morning or after 8 p.m. Heavy backups are expected along the Mass Pike near the Exit 9 connector to Interstate 84 and at the Interstate 95 and 495 Turnpike interchanges. Interstate 93 northbound into New Hampshire should also be slow. Click here for a map of MassDOT's live traffic cameras.

3. this season. The good folks behind Charlestown Against Drugs are raising funds so they can purchase coats, hats and gloves for kids in need around the neighborhood. Last year they donated winter clothes to more than 200 children. For more info on how to help, click .
4. And speaking of how to help, Harvest on Vine is getting Thanksgiving fixings to more than 450 families this year. Which is to say, the neighborhood's food pantry could use your help. It's not too late to send a monetary donation. For details on how to do that, click .
