Charlestown residents concerned about the environmental implications of a proposed Wynn Resorts casino in nearby Everett will have the chance next week to discuss such issues with representatives of the company.

Wynn, to whom the Massachusetts Gaming Commission voted to award a casino license last month, plans to hold a public presentation and discussion next week on environmental issues associated with the development of the project, which will run along the banks of the Mystic River.

The meeting, sponsored by the Mystic River Watershed Association, will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 28 at 7 p.m. at Tufts University, 51 Winthrop St. in Medford.

The project, according to the Mystic River Watershed Association, will bring “many changes to the Mystic River Watershed, including the cleanup of a waterfront Brownfield site that has been vacant for decades.”

At the upcoming meeting, Wynn representatives will address and answer the public’s questions about the proposed casino, which has already sparked debate among Charlestown residents and officials. About 60 percent of the casino’s estimated traffic would come by way of Sullivan Square in Charlestown.

In August, Wynn was found to have complied with 10 out of 11 topics covered by a Final Environmental Impact Report for the proposed project.
