23-Year-Old Woman Fatally Shot In Car In Lowell
Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan and Lowell Police Superintendent Kelly Richardson are now asking for the public's help.

LOWELL, MA — Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan and Lowell Police Superintendent Kelly Richardson are now asking for the public's help in gathering information about what happened leading up to the fatal shooting of the 23-year-old woman in a car in broad daylight outside a Coral Street home Tuesday.
Around 3:30 p.m. someone called Lowell police to report someone was shot on Coral Street in Lowell. When police got there, they found Deija Mendez, 23 of Boston, in the front seat of a black Chevrolet Tahoe suffering from a gunshot wound, and she was pronounced dead shortly after.
"At this time this is not believed to be a random incident," said Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan and Lowell Police Superintendent Kelly Richardson in a joint statement.
