6 Middlesex Towns Make 'Best Places To Buy A Home' In MA

Six Middlesex County towns were ranked among the best places to buy a home in Massachusetts based on home value, income and population.

CHELMSFORD, MA – Chelmsford this month was left off a survey of the 100 best places in Massachusetts to purchase a home. LendEDU, a student loan and personal finance marketplace, ranked six Middlesex County communities in its survey, "The Best 100 Places to Buy a Home in Massachusetts." Chelmsford did not make the cut. Jefferson in Worcester County was ranked No. 1.

The Middlesex County communities that made the cut were Westford (No. 16), Townsend (No. 45), Tyngsborough (No. 65), Tewksbury (N0. 70), Littleton (No. 89) and Hopkinton (No. 99).

The survey was based on factors including home value, income and population.

"Overall, Massachusetts is a great choice for any type of homebuyer," LendEDU wrote. "Massachusetts is consistently ranked in the top five of states in terms of per capita personal income. It also has a general minimum wage of $11 that is higher than most. Not to mention, the state has the sixth-largest number of millionaires per capita in the U.S.

"Further, 12 Fortune 500 companies call Massachusetts their home. Among these are Liberty Mutual, Staples Inc., Biogen, and Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company. Finally, if you are looking to settle down on the beach, Massachusetts is home to beautiful communities like Cape Cod, Nantucket, and Martha’s Vineyard."
