Army Veteran and Longtime Chelmsford Resident Was Successful Realtor

Jose Henriques, 85, who served during the Korean conflict, passed away on August 5.

Jose Henriques, 85, a longtime resident of Chelmsford, passed away on August 5, 2014. He was the beloved husband for 57 years of Maria (Batista) Henriques.

He was born in Providence, Rhode Island on August 11, 1928 and was a son of the late Manuel and Rosa (Ferreira) Henriques.

Jose was a veteran of the United States Army having served during the Korean Conflict and achieving the rank of Sergeant E5. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Bryant University in Rhode Island. Jose was a realtor in business for himself, J. Henriques, Realtor of Burlington, MA for 45 years. He was awarded the status of Realtor Emeritus.

In addition to his loving wife, Jose is survived by his sister Alda Braz of Portugal and family and friends both in Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday from 5 to 8 pm at the BLAKE FUNERAL HOME, 24 Worthen St., CHELMSFORD.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 11 o’clock at St. Irene Parish, 181 East St., Carlisle, MA.

Interment will take place on Tuesday, August 12th at 1 o’clock in Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, 301 S. County Trail, Exeter, RI.
