Chelmsford Farmers Market Open for the Season Thursday Afternoon
The market is open on Thursday from 2-6:30 p.m. and will remain open weekly for the remainder of the summer and early fall.
The summer months are officially upon us. For evidence, all you have to do is drive or walk by Chelmsford Town Common on Thursday afternoon.
Chelmsford Farmers' Market opens for the season on Thursday as it hosts its ribbon cutting and opening ceremony on Thursday at 2:15 p.m.
Each week the market will be open from 2-6:30 p.m. from this Thursday all the way through October 2. The only exception is July 3 as the Farmers' Market will be closed due to Fourth of July Country Fair festivities.
On Thursday there will be entertainment featured at the market. Amanda Cote, a blues, rock and soul musician, will play a free concert starting at 2:30 p.m.
Chelmsford students looking to gain some hours this summer to add to their community service requirements are in luck.
According to the Chelmsford Farmers' Market Facebook page, the group will authorize hours spent volunteering at the market for National Honors Society resumes with a certificate.
Volunteers will assist vendors with set up and closing from 12-2 p.m. each week, and again from 6 p.m. until shut down is complete.
Interested students can contact Kathy O'Brien at (978) 256-3270 or Fran McDougall at (978) 256-0350 for more details.
