Chelmsford Man, 50, Was Avid Golfer and Employee at Billerica High School

Kevin Mark Decker, age 50, a longtime resident of Chelmsford, died unexpectedly Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at Lahey Hospital and Medical Center in Burlington.

He was born in Lowell on May 3, 1964, and was a son of the late Peter F. Decker, Sr. and Virginia Marie (Daley) Decker. He received his early education in Chelmsford schools and was a graduate of Nashoba Valley Technical High School in Westford.

Kevin was employed for many years as a custodian at Billerica High School, where he was blessed to have so many friends.

He was an avid golfer and could be found on the course every Sunday with his brother Peter.

Kevin is survived by two sisters, Susan Buck of Fremont, CA and Tracey Garthe of Chelmsford; four brothers, Peter F. Decker, Jr., and his wife Linda of Chelmsford, Michael Decker and his wife Nancy of Apollo Beach, FL, Thomas Decker of Apollo Beach, FL, and William Decker of Chelmsford; his sister-in-law, Darlene Decker of Valrico, FL; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews; and his dear friends, Eddie and Julie Buckley and John Christianson and their families, all of Chelmsford. He was also the brother of the late Steven Decker and the brother-in-law of the late Gregory Buck.

Visitation will be held at the Blake Funeral Home, 24 Worthen Street, Chelmsford on Tuesday from 4 until 8 pm.

His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at 9 o’clock at St. Mary Church, 25 North Rd. Chelmsford.

Interment in Pine Ridge Cemetery in Chelmsford.
