Chelmsford Pee Wee 3 Hockey Team Wins Championship

The team beat Marblehead and Waltham during the weekend to claim the championship.

CHELMSFORD, MA — It's not the Stanley Cup, but the Chelmsford Pee Wee 3 team brought home the hardware after defeating Marblehead and Waltham to win the Valley Hockey League Pee Wee East-A Championship.

Chelmsford beat Marblehead 4-3 in a game that went into a shootout on Saturday and then battled back against Waltham to win 4-3. At one point in the game Chelmsford was down by two goals.

Youngster Giacomo Cincotti turned out the be the hero of the final game, scoring the winning goal with just 25 seconds left on the clock. Ben Hogan, Ryan Gifford and Aidan Boczar also scored for the lions and goalie Ethan Cliff made huge saves to keep the team in the game while down two goals, according to the Chelmsford Hockey Association.

The Pee Wee 3 team had a good regular season, finishing 19-12-4 during the Valley League regular season. But Coach Shawn Crowley's team really shined in the playoffs, beating Agawam by a score of 4-3 and then Methuen by a score of 3-2 before going on to beat Marblehead and Waltham.
