Chelmsford Schools Among Top Music Educators in Nation

CHELMSFORD, MA - Chelmsford was ranked one of the top communities for music education in the nation for the fourth consecutive year in a row.

The NAMM Foundation place Chelmsford among 476 school districts in the nation to receive the NAMM’s Best Communities for Music Education designation this year, the Chelmsford school district reported.

The decision is based on the community's "funding, graduation requirements, music class participation, instruction time, facilities, support for the music program and community music-making programs."

“The Chelmsford Music Faculty at all levels witness on a daily basis just how much music positively impacts the cognitive and emotional development of our students,” Fine and Performing Arts Coordinator Christina Whittlesey wrote on the announcement. "Thank you to the Chelmsford families, community members, and administrators who continue to support students' musical endeavors in our district!"
