Chelmsford Unemployment Takes Sharp Drop in November
However, Chelmsford's rate was higher than most of its neighbors.

The unemployment rate in Chelmsford took a significant drop between October and November according to figures released from the state recently.
According to the Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development (EOLWD), Chelmsford had just under 1,000 unemployed residents in November, for a rate of 5.1 percent.
In October, the agency reported a rate of 5.9 percent for the town.

Statewide, the November unemployment rate was reported at 6.2 percent while the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported a 7.0 percent national average.
Among Chelmsford’s neighbors, Tyngsborough was at 6.2 percent, Carlisle was at 3.8 percent, Westford was at 5.1 percent, Billerica was at 5.2 percent and Lowell was at 8.1 percent.Â
