DA Releases Name Of Woman In Wheelchair Who Died In Lowell Crash
The woman and the man who was pushing her wheelchair were raced to the hospital Saturday night after a truck with a plow hit them.

LOWELL, MA — The 27-year-old woman in a wheelchair who was killed Saturday was Deanne Fontes, of Lowell, according to the district attorney's office.
Police said a 39-year-old Carlisle man was pushing Fontes in a wheelchair near the corner of School and Cross streets Just before 7 p.m. Saturday when someone driving a Chevy Silverado with a plow attached hit them.
Police said the Fontes was thrown under a parked car across the street. She died from her injuries the next morning in the hospital. The Carlisle man who was pushing her wheelchair is still in the hospital, they said. Read more.
