Donate Your Used Books to Chelmsford Public Library

Here's what's going on in Chelmsford today.

1. Donate your books: The Chelmsford Friends of the Library is hosting a book drop off on Wednesday where you can give your used books, CDs, and DVDs to the Chelmsford Public Library. This is the last collection day before the annual book sale. 

2. Today in history: On Aug. 28, 1957, Senator Strom Thurmond began a filibuster to stop voting on the Civil Rights Act of 1957. He spoke for 24 hours and 18 minutes, the longest filibuster in history. 

3. Work skills: Interested in improving your work skills? An event at the library hopes to help you do just that by bringing you a lesson in technical and computer skills at 1:30 p.m.

4. Weather: According to the National Weather Service, weather today will be mostly sunny with temps in the low to mid 60s.

5. Sewer Fairness Alliance: A monthly meeting of the Sewer Fairness Alliance hopes to bring awareness to in the inequality in sewer maintenance in Chelmsford based on homeowners' type of pump.
