Egg and Spoon Insurance Game Wins Chelmsford Teacher $1K
The game helps teach students about insurance in a fun and innovative way.
CHELMSFORD, MA - Chelmsford High School personal finance teacher Danielle Trouve was named a 2016 NGPF Teacher Innovator Award winner for her "Egg and Spoon Insurance and Probability Game."
Trouve will receive $1,000 for her game, which aims to teach students about insurance.
The activity is played like a typical egg and spoon race where students are placed in groups of four and given one egg and four spoons. The catch is that students must evaluate the group's risk of dropping the egg (based on clothing, athletic ability, health and at least two other potential risks) and are given the opportunity to purchase "eggsurance."
