Estranged Husband Continually Calls Wife at Work, Chelmsford Police Intervene

The following information was supplied by the Chelmsford Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Oct. 25, 7:18 p.m. – Officers got a call from a manger of a business on Littleton Road where a husband had been continually calling his wife, who worked at the business.

After asking several times to stop calling due to a dispute the previous day between the couple, the husband told the manager “God help your soul, God will judge you” on the final call.

The wife said she was too busy to obtain a restraining order on that day, but asked police to ask the husband stop calling in a call from the business, which was placed on speakerphone.

During the call, the officer said that the calls needed to stop, that they were interfering with the business at this point. The husband told the officer, “God bless you, only God knows the truth” and hung up the phone.

The officer told the manager and wife that if the husband called again, criminal charges could be sought, although the wife hoped the matter would now cease thanks to the officers intervention. ‘

Oct. 26, 11:48 a.m. – A resident on Moore Street called police after what he described as frequent harassment by a woman living on his street.

In the past, the man had gotten harassment prevention orders for the woman, which she had violated numerous times.

An incident earlier in the day occurred when the woman hurled insults at the man, believing he was blowing leaves onto her property.

The man was able to disengage from any conflict with the woman, but wanted the incident documented.

Oct. 26, 7:26 p.m. – A wife returned a dog to her husband after the two separated, but the husband called police after the dog was reportedly stolen back by a son of the couple.

The son was allegedly upset over not being able to see the dog, but would not produce the dog upon request, saying “it was somewhere in Chelmsford.”

Officers worked with the husband, wife and son to establish visitation times for the dog and the son.

The original transfer of the dog happened without incident.
