Firefighters Fight Fires At Chelmsford Garage, Westford Barn

CHELMSFORD -- Firefighters in Chelmsford and Westford fought two separate fires in the frigid cold Saturday night as flames tore through a barn in Westford and a Chelmsford garage, according to The Lowell Sun.

Westford police closed a portion of Route 40 at 10:15 p.m. as firefighters battled a two-alarm barn fire at 403 Groton Road (Route 40) about 10:15 p.m., the newspaper reports.

Minutes later, a Chelmsford police officer noticed heavy smoke coming from H. Ryan's Northern Automotive at 374 North Road in Chelmsford, according to reports.

There were no reported injuries in either fire.
