Frank R. Peterson: Longtime Chelmsford Resident, Former Town Meeting Member

CHELMSFORD, MA -- Frank Peterson died Wednesday morning, January 6, 2016. He was born in Jamaica Plain to the late Freda and Frank C.B. Peterson on September 4, 1922.
He was educated at Boston Arts and Mechanics High School and graduated from Northeastern University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. During his career, he worked at Armstrong, General Tire and Rubber, the Polaroid Corporation and the Town of Chelmsford.
He was a veteran of the US Army during WWII and served in Europe from Omaha Beach to the Elbe River in Germany.

Frank was the beloved husband of the late Irene J. Peterson and the brother of the late Carl G. Peterson and the late Ralph A. Peterson. He is survived by his four children, Russell A. Peterson and his wife Susan of York, ME, Penelope S. Peterson and her husband Frederick MacDonald of Norwell, MA, Eric F. Peterson of Clifton Park, NY and Valerie Peterson of Chelmsford. He is also survived by six grandchildren, Heidi Foster and her husband John, Holly Yakovakis and her husband Stephen, Heather Peterson and her partner Lara Ismail, Leif E. Peterson and his wife Stacey, Leith C. MacDonald and his wife Suzanne and Connor F. MacDonald. He is also survived by eleven great grandchildren.
Frank was active in the community as a former Town Meeting representative, former Chelmsford Cemetery Superintendent, Chelmsford Rotarian, and a member of Past Master of Washington Lodge A.F. & A.M.

Visitation was held at the Blake Funeral Home, 24 Worthen Street, Chelmsford on Sunday from 2 to 5 pm.
His Funeral Service was held on Monday at 10 o’clock at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 242 Boston Rd., Chelmsford, MA 01824.
Interment in Pine Ridge Cemetery in Chelmsford.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Frank’s name to Aldersgate United Methodist Church.
