Habitat for Humanit and Wells Fargo team up for home repair

Wells Fargo Foundation has awarded Habitat for Humanity of Greater Lowell a $15,000 grant for a critical home repair in Lowell MA. The funding is part of an $8.1 million donation to Habitat for Humanity International for capacity building and direct mission support to build, renovate and repair more than 350 affordable home across the United States. The grant is provided through Wells Fargo Builds℠ and is part of the Wells Fargo Foundation's $1 billion philanthropic commitment to create more housing affordability solutions by 2025.

"The financial support from our partners like Wells Fargo, help to fund the purchase of building material to keep the build going." said Brenda Gould, Habitat for Humanity of Greater Lowell Executive Director. "We are proud to have Wells Fargo partnering with Habitat as we work
together to create more housing affordability for low and moderate income families locally here in the Greater Lowell and the Northern Middlesex Community." This grant will support a much needed roof repair in Lowell. With the help of Habitat's Critical Repair Program, the necessary repairs are being made to the slate roof, trim and fascia boards for this extended family of 7. These repairs will ensure that this home will remain insured and give the homeowner the peace of mind she has been waiting for. "Habitat has helped me so much. Being able to have all of us stay in this house that we can afford and not worry about losing it means the world to me."
