How'd The Lions Do This Fall?

The fall sports season is just about over in Chelmsford, highlighted by a state championship for the girls’ swimming and diving team, and culminating with the annual Thanksgiving football contest against Billerica, which will be held this year on the road at 10 a.m.

Here’s how some of the other Lions squads did this season.

Boys’ Soccer – With a final record of 2-6, the team did not qualify for the postseason.

Girls’ Soccer – The girls’ had a 12-3-4 in the regular season, but fell 2-1 in a penalty kick shootout to Andover in the first round of the Division 1 North Sectionals.

Field Hockey – A 2-1 loss to Masconomet in the Division 1 North Sectional Quarterfinals ended a 15-3-1 regular season campaign.

Girls’ Volleyball – With a 10-11 record, the team did not qualify for the post season.

Cross Country – Several participants on the boys’ side participated, led by Quinn Cooney, whose 14:52.05 time was good enough for eighth place. Meghan Duffy led the way on the girls’ side with a time of 18:36.93, good enough for 63rd place.

Golf – Conor Hart’s 75 led the way as Chelmsford finished ninth with a combined total of 334 strokes.
