I-495 Lanes To Close For Chelmsford Bridge Demolition
Lane closures will go into effect Aug. 26.

CHELMSFORD, MA – Transportation officials have scheduled overnight lane closures on both sides of I-495 in the area of Exit 33 in Chelmsford. Closures will start Sunday evening, Aug. 26 and continue until Friday morning, Sept. 7. They will not be in effect during Labor Day weekend.
Lane closures will be implemented each evening from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. while crews demolish the Rt. 4 bridge deck as part of the bridge replacement project. Starting at 8 p.m., one low-speed lane will close, with a second low speed lane closing at 11 p.m. One travel lane will remain open at all times.
The lane closures will happen in phases, starting with some southbound lanes and then proceeding to the northbound side.

Police details will be on-scene and two-way travel on Rt. 4 will be maintained at all times during construction.
