'Jolly Old British Isles' Concert on Chelmsford Common

Join the Chelmsford Community Band for a celebration of British musical heritage.

The Chelmsford Community Band continues its decades-long tradition of providing free outdoor music on the Common July 21st with a concert themed on the music of the British Isles. Featuring a selection by the composer Holst and an arrangement of Celtic folk themes by Grainger, this program is sure to transport audience across the pond with a blend of traditional and modern work. Spread your blanket on the grass or bring your lawn chairs to enjoy the music with the whole family; the program will start at 7pm. See the band’s Facebook site for updates in the case of bad weather.

Founded in 1972, the Chelmsford Community Concert Band is a 60-piece ensemble of volunteers under the direction of Lucinda Ellert. It celebrates its rich tradition of providing live music performances in this area every summer with a free concert series on Tuesday evenings. Visit them on the web at www.chelmsfordband.org or follow them on Facebook.
