Late Lowell Woman Was First Grade Teacher in Chelmsford

Pat Dion taught in Chelmsford at the Westland School.

The following is an obituary courtesy of Mahoney Funeral Home.

Patricia Ann 'Pat' (Chandler) Dion, 85, of Lowell, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, July 8, 2014, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was the devoted wife of Joseph Dion with whom she shared the past Sixty Two years of marriage.

A daughter of the late Franklin Chandler and the late Viola (Toupin) (Chandler) Collins and her step father the late Joseph Collins. She was born March 23, 1929, in Lowell, and was educated in Lowell, at the Academy of Notre Dame, Lowell State Teachers College and Rivier College attaining her Masters Degree in Teaching.

She resided in the Belvidere Section of the City, and enjoyed spending time with her family as well as crewel work, golfing, dancing, and playing cards. For thirty eight years, Pat was a first grade teacher for the Town of Chelmsford at the Westland School.

Besides her husband, Joseph, she is survived by her sons, David Dion and his wife, Carol, of Townsend, John Dion and his wife, Kerry Colburn-Dion of Tyngsboro, Peter Dion and his wife, Nicole, of Lowell; her grandchildren, Daniel Dion and his wife, Kathi, of Merrimack, NH, Stefanie Price and her husband, Aaron, of San Diego, CA, Melissa Roth and her husband, Jacob, of Hudson, NH, Jennifer Gregory and her husband, Lamar, of Nashua, Mark Dion of Townsend, and Drew Dion of Townsend, Tristan Dion and his wife, Ashling, of Billerica, Tenley Dion of Tyngsboro, and Brennden Dion of Lowell; great grandchildren, Chloe Dion, Bryanna Dion, and Taylar Dion all of Merrimack, NH, Kalani Price of San Diego, CA, Jamison Roth and Tyler Roth both of Hudson, NH, and Ahlijah Gregory and Kamirieh Gregory of Nashua; and several nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her daughter in law, Lucille M. Dion.
