Lisa Arnold Picks Up Two More Endorsements

State Rep Candidate in 17th Middlesex Lisa Arnold Endorsed by Mass Voters for Animals and New Progressive Leaders

LOWELL, MA Lisa Arnold, candidate for State Representative in the 17th Middlesex district in Massachusetts, was recently endorsed by Massachusetts Voters for Animals and New Progressive Leaders.

Mass Voters for Animals works to elect the most humane-minded candidates to public office in Massachusetts so that these legislators can enact laws and policies to protect animals. They also work to defeat candidates who oppose enacting protections for animals and who seek to pass legislation that would harm animals. Mass Voters for Animals adds their name to a growing list of organizations endorsing Arnold for the State House including the Sierra Club, Progressive Massachusetts, Solidarity Lowell, and New Progressive Leaders.

Massachusetts Voters for Animals Steering Committee Member Marge Peppercorn said, "Mass Voters for Animals is delighted to endorse Lisa Arnold for State Representative since she stands out as a compassionate person who cares about animal welfare and would be a strong State House advocate for protecting animals from cruelty.”

New Progressive Leaders supports bold candidates who are committed to advancing systemic change, racial and gender parity, and progressive policies in the legislature and municipal governments of the Commonwealth. Their vision is to create a Massachusetts that reflects its racial, cultural, and gender diversity with elected officials who affirm and take action to implement progressive priorities in a transparent and accountable manner. With the new formation of the New Progressive Leaders (NPL) PAC, the six endorsed candidates who form their Pilot Class are determined to do just that.

"I had the pleasure of sitting down (over Zoom) with Lisa Arnold for an interview, and one thing's for sure: she is a force. It's obvious that she cares deeply for her community and will fight for it with bold ideas and smart solutions,” said New Progressive Leaders Endorsement Director, Lia Cohen-Odiaga. “As someone who struggles with mental illness, I appreciate the fact that Lisa sees destigmatizing conversations around mental health as integral to her role as a State Representative. While talking with Lisa, I learned about her love of data and team-player attitude—both of which are qualities we badly need on Beacon Hill. And her plan to invest in building bike routes across the state is a fantastic way to not only reduce emissions, but to encourage travel to areas which need more economic activity and promote public health. Lisa is a champion and a New Progressive Leader through and through."

“To be a member of the inaugural class of new progressive leaders is a true honor,” Arnold said. “I’m proud to be selected alongside these six great leaders who are ready to enact bold progressive changes for the state of Massachusetts.”
