Monday Essentials: Cholesterol Screening Sign-Up & Live Music

Five things to know for this week in Chelmsford.

1. Upcoming Fun: The Bell Bottom Bones, a new ensemble consisting of seven trombones, a tuba and a drummer, will open for the Chelmsford Community Band on Tuesday with songs from Steppenwolf, Jimmy Buffet and others. Head to the common at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday for their concert, followed by the Chelmsford Community Band concert at 7 p.m. 

2. Approaching Deadline: There is one week left to register for cholesterol screening with the Chelmsford Board of Health. The deadline is Friday, Aug. 9, and the screening will be Tuesday, Aug. 27. There is a $15 fee. More information is available on the official Chelmsford website. 

3. Weather: According to the National Weather Service, weather this week will be in the mid 70s to low 80s, with a chance of rain on Thursday.

4. Important Meeting: The Board of Selectmen will meet with the Board of Appeals and the Housing Advisory Board on Monday at 7 p.m. in the Town Offices at 50 Billerica Road. They will discuss affordable housing project planning, rules and regulations.
