Mother, Daughter Die Within Hours of One Another

Eleanor Mulvey, a Chelmsford resident, and her daughter Christina (Mulvey) Bochan, of Westford, died within hours of one another on Oct. 25.

Eleanor V. (Kielbasa) Mulvey, 100, of Chelmsford, MA died Sunday, October 25, 2015 at Genesis Westford House in Westford, MA.

She was married to the late Bernard Mulvey, who died in 1979.

Born in New Bedford, MA, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Sophi Kielbasa. She graduated from New Bedford High and earned a Doctorate of Education. During WWII, she was a Rosie the Riveter Girl.

Eleanor retired from the Shawsheen Middle School in Wilmington in 1979, where she was an english teacher, a special education teacher and a teacher of languages.

She was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church.

Eleanor was an international traveler. She enjoyed playing bridge and entertaining her family and friends.

She was an avid hiker, hiking the mountains well into her ninety’s including Mt. Denali in Alaska.

Eleanor was a proud and longtime resident of Chelmsford.

She is survived by her son, Michael and his wife, Mary Jane Mulvey of Fairfield, CT; six grandchildren; several great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was the mother of the late Ann Pike of Merrimack, NH, who died in August of 2014 and Christina F. Bochan of Westford, who died four hours after her on Oct. 25, 2015.

There are no visiting hours. Funeral Mass Sat. at 9 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church. Private burial at the convenience of the family in the Pine Ridge Cemetery, Chelmsford.

Christina F. (Mulvey) Bochan, 67, of Westford, MA died Sunday, October 25, 2015 at Genesis Westford House in Westford, MA.

Born in Troy, NY, she was the daughter of the late Bernard and Eleanor Mulvey. She graduated from Fairfield High School in Fairfield, CT with the class of 1966 and earned a B.S in Computer Science from UMass Lowell and a B.A. in Fine Arts from Tufts University.

Christina was a self-employed garden designer

She is survived by her son, Meilseoir Schwartzthal of Lawrence, MA; daughter, Lisajayne Bochan and her husband Matthew Jewett of Chelmsford; uncle, Michael and his wife, Mary Jane Mulvey of Fairfield, CT; granddaughter, Cassidy and her husband, Benjamin Ford of Shirley, MA and several other grandchildren.

She was sister of the late Ann Pike of Merrimack, NH.

There are no visiting hours. Funeral Mass Sat. at 9A.M. at St. John the Evangelist Church. Memorials may be made in her name to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, P.O. Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284-9168.
