New Faces Among School Employees Next Year?

The Chelmsford School Committee will reportedly replace human-resource and technology directors at the end of the fiscal year.

CHELMSFORD, MA - Superintendent Jay Lang was authorized by the School Committee to make changes to job descriptions in the human-resources and technology departments and that could mean some staff changes are in store, the Lowell Sun reported.

Lang said he wants to "take the positions in a different direction," the Lowell Sun reported.

The contracts for Director of Human Resources Ken Storlazzi and Executive Director of Technology and Information Services Anne-Marie Fiore will expire on June 30, according to the Lowell Sun.

Lang said he wants the person who fills the human resource position to focus on maintaining a "high-quality" staff and providing support during the switchover to the new teacher evaluation system, the Lowell Sun reported.

Lang is looking for a technology administer who will "create a vision for technology in the district going forward" and have a more hands-on role in the school community.

Barbara Skaar was the only committee member to vote against a new technology job opening, the Lowell Sun reported.

"I think we have some incredible people in that department that haven't really been allowed to show their skills," she said, according to the Lowell Sun.
